When we build a home.
Listened while writing this post, try while reading it :o)
This post is the eleventh in a series reflecting on the meaning of life and the importance of this question. These posts should be read in the order they are published as, starting at the 6th for example, dear reader, will mean the whole thing makes no sense. Happy reading!
Continuing with our reflection, we know that certain senses, like hearing, develop more quickly than others. Sensory development however precedes even this. So it’s not too far-fetched to believe that different sound frequencies could have some sort of recall effect on humans. For example, frequencies reminding us of our mothers could have a sort of calming effect. If, as a partner, you are present and close enough physically to send sound waves to the foetus, it would follow that this would help widen the spectrum of sound from which the child could draw later in life; and this would go for music as well.
In my opinion if, whilst listening to music, no matter the genre, a mother feels well and happy- and I must remind you that I am hypothesising completely here- it would be possible if not probable, to conclude that the baby could develop a subconscious penchant for this type of music and its rhythms. The same could be said for the average bodily temperature I imagine. Just a few nano-degrees could be the difference between someone who, emotionally speaking, appreciates more tropical, desert, temperate or even nordic climates. Exciting to think of all these possibilities isn’t it?
Until next time…
