When everyone can play.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
So? What’s going to happen? I’ll tell you. First of all, if the end consumer is mistaken for a fool, they won’t just lie back and let it happen. I would not count on the fact that they will let themselves be ripped off, they are, on the contrary, very intelligent. If the merchant increases the price of their services, the customer will space out their visits. Worse still, the customer will look for an alternative supplier and, in the meantime, will not be purchasing anything. A product? The consumer will try to stock up. The volume could allow them to order overseas and avoid the local distribution network.
The service providers or the traders could be caught between a rock and a hard place. Not wishing to lose their customer, the burden of other price increases falls on their shoulders. Once again, they will be able to stock up or buy overseas. In the case of a service, they could lower the quality and make it “homemade” instead of using the service of an expert. Worse still, they could cut services, we see it in the case of restaurateurs who do not want to reopen their restaurants for fear of losing even more money.
I’ll conclude with that. Attempts to recover losses, I think, will only make for more losses, even among the major players. So why not face the truth that the pandemic has struck, harder for some, less for others. For some, it will be through choices, for others, luck. For me, it makes no difference, because I am an entrepreneur and minimalist citizen, but for others, it will be a big blow.
