When life is still not as you want
Yesterday I talked about the complexity but necessity of social relationships. Let’s dig a little deeper. I like the comparison between the human brain and body. In a certain way, they work pretty much the same. Maybe because both are biologically based entity, I feel they go through the same process when something good or wrong is going on.
Let’s make the comparison of a crisis. At first, there is the initial state of the body. Is it healthy, weakened by some past event, internal or external? Was it well maintained by its owner? Next, the new threat appears. Something then disrupts the system. Sometime hardly, sometimes slyly. In both situations, the system will get into defensive mode. Some barrier will erect, and energy flow will change according to the menace. At this point, it is to beat or to be beaten. Both situations will leave scars, a sign of a life long fight to stay alive.
Psychology would have something more, though. Unlike the body, the brain must process the meaning and store this experience somewhere. The body doesn’t need to do this, or at least, we are not aware of the following internal adjustments. Our brain, though, must be managed by its owner and you ultimately don’t want to let the default process do it for you. As the owner, you have the responsibility be in charge.
