When a tag makes no sense
I’m not even sure what to think of this tag, ideas are clashing in my head. Let’s see why. The System has a good sense of humour. Work your 8 hours a day (if not more), 5 days a week (if not more), for 52 weeks. In order to reward you and give you a rest, the System offers you, on average, a generous 24 additional days of leave to the usual 2-day weekend, in exchange for working around 1900 hours per year. These 24 days represent about 10% of your work.
The problem with all of this is that the rhythm and routine of working life is too restrictive. Technological tools now allow us to work from almost anywhere. If we consider that we will soon have the majority of assembly lines and automatic distribution, humans will gain a freedom of time we have never known. The deal of presence will no longer make sense and time paid for by a fixed schedule will eventually represent more a of a loss than a gain. How are you preparing for this silent revolution on this public holiday?
