When we try to evolve.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
This is the sixteenth in a series of posts reflecting on our willingness to remember and the quality of that knowledge. These posts should be read in order of publication. Starting with number six, for example, would make no sense to the reader. Happy reading!
Socializing. This is the future of humanity. We must continually learn to socialize together. In an era where extremist intolerance towards intolerance is becoming problematic, where every word is analyzed and given every possible meaning, we should not be surprised when dialogue leaves the ship.
Could some people feel threatened? Perhaps. Violence attracts violence. It is like water seeping in. Sneaky, it slips slowly into the most vulnerable minds and as it tries to pass itself off as a norm, it opens locks that lead it to the irreparable. Attack will never be a solution to understanding each other. It can only force silence and leave significant consequences.
Escaping, on the other hand, can be a solution for some. I must admit that I have often adopted this option during my life. When I was very young, I used to run away from conflicts. My memories are probably altered, but I remember the uneasiness I felt on those occasions. It wasn’t fear, but rather a form of disgust. Today, I see it as a loss. Even now, I still choose to run away from time to time. If a person doesn’t cooperate on their own, so be it, individual freedom prevails and I move on to another call.
To be continued…
