When you ask yourself: For how long should I boil an egg?

Here is a little series of posts which cover the most Googled questions on the internet. Most of these questions I will not be able to answer here, although I can offer a response if I happen to have one. The main idea of this series is to have a bit of fun discussing why people ask these questions so often.

Today we find ourselves again in the world of gastronomy -if one can label this as such- looking back at the first post we wrote on the culinary preparation of eggs. Of course, boiling an egg does take a certain amount of time, and this depends upon whether we boil it with or without its shell. You will recall from the previous post that I am partial to a bit of experimentation. There is nothing better in my opinion, than to conduct one’s own experiments. In the past I have ended up under or over cooking things. In the latter case it’s not so much of an issue though, as if we overcook a food, it’s usually better to put up with the results and attempt to eat it. Unless the product is completely burnt- in which case it is probably best to chuck it on the compost heap- it could still be added to a soup. In the case of the food being undercooked, we should try to complete the process in the same way as first attempted if possible, otherwise maybe try a different method in order not to waste anything!

As far as our egg is concerned, and taking into account its size, you should refer to your own culinary preferences and attempt to find out where you sit on the recommended scale of 3-12 minutes. Sorry! 😂
