When you ask: What does SMH mean?
Here is a small series of posts that cover the most asked questions on Google. Most of these questions won’t be answered here. However, I might, for fun, give an answer if I personally know it. It’s mostly to have fun with why people ask so many questions.
I must confess that I had to look this up myself. Let’s just say that the most sought-after acronyms of the last few years are those used in the language of SMS, texting, the language of the internet. This language occupies an important place in our lives, it is a language whose particularity is to be somewhat generational. It is so because it involves an incredible diversity of local terms and dialects, from a virtual point of view. Each small community tries to mimic what it discovers on the internet and adopts or doesn’t adopt these new expressions or acronyms.
Whether it’s the original smiley faces, 🙂 or )) or hahaha. Whether it’s the different emotional variants, 🙁 or XD or whatever. We have come to replace them sometimes, depending on the community, with acronyms like LOL, ROFL, LMAO or any other acronym. So SMH would just stand for Shaking My Head. Again, an acronym for an expression. See?
I like to consult urbandictionary.com, a disreputable site because of its often vulgar and saucy examples, it is nevertheless a humorous but serious source of the language we all try to understand and use. Much more so than Esperanto.
