When you start from scratch
Isn’t that emotionally contradictory? Let’s think about it. Starting from scratch makes me think of two opposing ideas. The first is the feeling of freshness, but the second is the feeling of heaviness. But how can these two feelings simultaneously be found in the same place?
When it comes to heaviness, I find it depressing to take advantage of the principle of cycles to sweep everything that we have accomplished under the carpet. We usually focus our attention on our mistakes and failures that weigh heavily on our minds. However, if we take a moment to look at it, we realise that under the debris, there are a majority of good shots, successes and moments of satisfaction. So why must we insist that the end of a cycle gives us an excuse to give ourselves a makeover?
As for the feeling of novelty. It is true that the beginning of a new cycle always seems to have a lot to offer. Like a birth, a whole life is before us, offering so many possibilities. We can even say that this would be an example of freedom of opportunity.
In any case, developing a culture that emphasises everything in a balanced way seems rather wise to me.
