When you ask: How to make love?

Here is a small series of posts that cover the most asked questions on Google. Most of these questions won’t be answered here. However, I might, for fun, give an answer if I personally know it. It’s mostly to have fun with why people ask so many questions.

This is a very serious question. Let’s understand here that we must first talk about love, and given how many things could be said on the subject, it would be hard to know who would be able to cover it all in a mere 200 words. So, let’s just go for it.

If you follow my blog, you will start to understand me and perhaps we will agree on certain points. Love is a concept that, in my opinion, links several levels of our hierarchy of needs. Love refers to our esteem, it refers to our sense of belonging and security and even to our primary needs for some. Of course, to consider that the love you have for someone or that they have for you is based on material possessions, well, that is a problem.

Let’s get back on track, if that same love provides you with security or belonging, it puts you out of balance and the same goes for self-esteem. It is in moments of failure that we can make the best observations. We can see that some people defend the foundations of a romantic relationship in the context of oppression or submission. We also see the sadness caused by a relationship that ends for some couples. But does this ultimately mean that love, this powerful feeling, only comes from a strong interdependence?

My opinion is that pure love, without the need for demonstration, is based on an extension of ourselves and our deep values into the other person. This is extremely rare and can be cultivated. So, making love for me is literally cultivating or building love.
