When we are unsatisfied.
Listened while writing this post, try while reading it :o)
This post is the twenty third in a series reflecting on the meaning of life and the importance of this question. These posts should be read in the order they are published as, starting at the 6th for example, dear reader, will mean the whole thing makes no sense. Happy reading!
Why is simply living just not enough for us? Whether we try to make sense of it all or not, the fact remains that we are dissatisfied, and debating this subject leads us to self-awareness which, combined with even a basic education, can really perturb us.
But what good is it, doing all these things if, when a child asks us why we are alive, the only answer we can come up with is: to eat. Yes, as I have cited in many of my blog posts, the act of responding to our physiological needs is indeed the principal motivator for our basic decisions. These decisions, however, are nothing but foundations upon which we can build something much bigger.
So, let’s look at this question then- if we cannot satisfy ourselves simply by meeting our fundamental physical needs; if this simple vocation does not succeed in abating our psychological unease, then how should we achieve this? And this is where the answer to the meaning of life is found.
In the following posts, now that we have well and truly done with all the aspects of natural sciences, including biology, we’ll delve into the misty depths of the occult in order to find the answer to our question which, after all, is where it all began.
Let’s go!
