When we take a step back.
Listened while writing this post, try while reading it :o)
This post is the fourth in a series which looks at the evolution of what is left of what we call democracy in my nation. These posts are best read in the order they were published. Starting at the 6th post in the series, for example, will mean that nothing makes sense to you, dear reader. Happy reading!
Let’s take a look again at the concept of ‘the group’ and its hunger for ease. Take, for example, a private organisation. In a private organisation there is a certain race to the top that we cannot deny. Everyone wishes to have more power over their own destiny. Usually this power is sought via the path of least effort. This is not out of laziness, but simply because each and every one of us is programmed to achieve our goals in the most efficient way possible.
And so begins a never ending debate, but have faith, I do know a few things! If my life was an experiment and I, the observer of it, it could be entitled – as dull as it may seem – ‘A study on human behaviour: the inability of humans to estimate the time it will take to prepare for something according to the time it will take to achieve it.’ You see, I have noticed in every interaction I am part of, that as soon as the question of carrying out a task or a project comes up, 80% of the discussions which follow are along the lines of, ‘Should we do such a thing like this, or like that?,’ Next, we will come to our main topic 😉
See you then…
