When we start something new.
Listened while writing this post, try while reading it :o)
This post is the first in a series which looks at the evolution of what is left of what we call democracy in my nation. These posts are best read in the order they were published. Starting at the 6th post in the series, for example, will mean that nothing makes sense to you, dear reader. Happy reading!
Greetings series fans, it’s been a while! I think I have gathered just enough material to get started on this one now. This series aims to be a candid reflection on the political institutions of our homeland. It is highly likely that my circumstances will not align with yours and that neither will my point of view. What’s important, in my opinion, is simply that you are interested in my point of view and by the same token that I am interested in yours. Does having a mutual interest mean that we ultimately agree? Not necessarily, but in my view there is no relation between cause and effect here. We can, however, consider that a mutual interest aids us to form an understanding with one another, in that without one, we would be hard pressed to find anything to reflect on at all.
It is in this spirit of sharing that I begin this series of posts which I believe will offer a fresh viewpoint, at least for me, on the state of play of our political system, its implications, and the impact it has on our day to day lives. I therefore invite you to share your opinions as well. Feel free to post links to articles which support your views in the comments.
Once again, happy reading and above all, happy pondering!
To be continued….
