When we fool ourselves
As for me, I am doing a comparative analysis. Could the gain be replaced by an even greater gain? In my case, the answer is generally yes. For gasoline, driving 30km to save $2.50 seems ridiculous to me in terms of fuel consumption, ecology and even time taken, because yes, the waiting time to fill up is not a gain, but a loss. So 30 to 45 minutes to save $2.50 seems like less than the minimum wage to me.
As for the refund, it is up to you to assert your rights if the merchant is at fault. In Quebec, for example, a price error is worth 10$ for the consumer in addition to the difference in price paid if the amount of the item exceeds a value of $10. Paying $30 for a product that should have cost $15 will cost you $5. Paying $30 for a product that should have cost $5 will cost you $0. However, if you change your mind like in my scenario, waiting 60 minutes for $5 is not possible for me.
This is why I believe that investing in things that are not projects should be avoided. Social networks are an example. Does this mean not doing any commercial representation? No, a minimum is required all the same.
