When you’re still gliding.
I’m continuing my automatic writing process and I’ve realized that as I’m writing this post, I’ve completely lost the catching up I had been doing for the past few weeks. The explanation is quite simple, I would say. I have been very busy and I realize that the pandemic has radically changed some of the routines in my life that allowed me to take time to write these few words. I feel like time is flying by more quickly. Yet, I’m not sure if I’m less efficient. But how can I be sure?
First, I could measure how long I take to write these posts. It seems to me that initially, I had a fairly consistent pace of several words per minute. I had even managed to quantify the time it took to finish my posts. It all seems like a long time ago and I’m sure that this kind of change has occurred in other parts of my life. For example, I think I’m sleeping more. Not that I’m sleeping better, just that I’m spending more time in bed than I used to. Another fact is that my appetite has changed. I don’t feel hungry at the same times and I don’t fancy eating at the same times.
