When you lose control.

I’d encou­rage you to read yesterday’s post before this one.

Assu­ming that our rea­so­ning is cor­rect, that our lea­ders think they are doing the right thing in a context where eve­ry­thing seems to prove them right, but that in any other context, it would be very ques­tio­nable, how out of control are we? Let’s consi­der at the fol­lo­wing reality.

How much ener­gy does it take for a poli­ti­cal­ly immune lea­der to make a deci­sion in a context of social fear? How much ener­gy does it take for a citi­zen to oppose or reverse this deci­sion in the same context? We are tal­king about two humans born in the same way, under the same condi­tions. The dif­fe­rence is that one of them has been elec­ted by the cur­rent elec­to­ral sys­tem to govern. We can the­re­fore say that they are within their demo­cra­tic right to make deci­sions, but what if these deci­sions were to go against their rights and free­doms? I refer you to my series of posts on free­dom, which raises the fol­lo­wing: Free­dom ends where the free actions of some impact the safe­ty of others. But this concept of safe­ty, how do we define it and who defines it? Isn’t a total cur­few, as we have been expe­rien­cing for two months, questionable?
