When we need to know.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
This is the thirteenth in a series of posts reflecting on our willingness to remember and the quality of that knowledge. These posts should be read in order of publication. Starting with number six, for example, would make no sense to the reader. Happy reading!
The second nature of the means by which we can achieve our goals is knowledge. Knowledge is divided into several parts, so we are not out of the woods just yet, as they say. Here is a list of knowledge to be mastered at different levels, but which we cannot ignore. As one list is worth another, here is the one found on the site of the International Baccalaureate of the Conseil scolaire francophone in British Columbia (well, I didn’t look for very long)
- Speech / language;
- Sensory perception;
- Emotion;
- Reason;
- Imagination;
- Faith;
- Intuition;
- Memory.
This list is rather a list of knowledge modes. Although all areas of knowledge can be studied, as far as we are concerned, and from an individual point of view, I would clarify what is required of each one and sort them in order of importance :
- Sensory perception;
- Corresponds to a channel that can be associated with an innate skill, but can also be improved;
- Memory;
- Requires a skill;
- Speech / Language
- Require both knowledge and skill;
- Emotion;
- Requires a skill;
- Reason;
- Requires a skill;
- Imagination;
- Require a skill;
- Intuition;
- Requires a skill. Although in the field of reason, imagination and memory, corresponds to a subconscious channel in the same way as sensory perception;
- Faith;
- Requires both knowledge and skill.
We can therefore conclude from this list that:
- Channels for knowledge transmission are essential;
- To develop non-sensory skills, basic knowledge is essential;
- Speech and language is essential knowledge for learning as well as a certain faith, the absolute trust that we put in someone, something, in this case, ourselves.
