When you take the first step.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
This is the thirty-fifth in a series of posts reflecting on our willingness to remember and the quality of that knowledge. These posts should be read in order of publication. Starting with number six, for example, would make no sense to the reader. Happy reading!
Regarding all the instruments we have discussed, it would be good to highlight an important point. In order to ensure that the instruments are useful for our required purpose, it is important to “calibrate” them to some extent. For example, a thermometer would need to be marked where water freezes and boils. Other marks could be made to calibrate our thermometer before we move on to the step of graduating it.
That being said, we would have been able to check our vital signs. Considering that we would have access to the knowledge and techniques to make the instruments required for all essential knowledge, we could say that this would be mission accomplished. Obviously, maintaining this library as well as the research and development effort would require funds to support the individuals involved. Yes, a community of volunteers can be considered, but few communities are entirely self-managed. It would still be worth being a target to hit. There is nothing better than a body that takes care of itself and contains a self-evolution mechanism. Other aspects to think about in project management do not represent challenges per se.
To be continued…
