When it’s convenient to like reading.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
Obviously, you have to love reading to enrich your intellectual heritage. We must love reading enough not to stop at the first readings, otherwise, we could bias our mind on partial and erroneous concepts.
As part of my learning, I no longer ask myself the question, I simply read. I read and capture the information. I capture the concepts, but also the passages that leave me thinking, those that surprise me or those that make me laugh, because yes, with the authors I read, although they are intellectuals, they definitely have their own humour.
You also have to practice reading. If you want to read more, you have to, like running, train in order to improve. Doing a small daily run is fine, but if you want to run more, for longer, you have to find techniques to improve and optimize.
Far be it from me to advertise for anyone, but I’ll give you my favorite tool for now. From their site, “Elevate is a new type of cognitive training tool designed to build communication and analytical skills.” It addresses four (4) areas of development: Writing, Verbal, Reading and Mathematics. The reading tools are very practical and, in my case, give real results.
