When you escape.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
Social media is still a bit all over the place, so let’s continue our little literary stroll. So, as a result of my research method and my noting down information technique, I regained my confidence and decided to continue my adventure. The next book, after the addition of Mohrman & Mohrman’s work, was Organizations in Action by James D. Thompson. A book whose structure wins first prize.

As well as its structure, Thompson’s work represents a small masterpiece combining references, experience and modelling. This is a flagship project we’re talking about. Even today, Thompson’s book ranks third in my literary reference classification algorithm.
In short, Thompson’s model explains how and why a for-profit organisation acts the way it does. Combining concepts of psychology and sociology, he arrives at a model that is quite faithful to what his successors observed in their time. Want a glimpse of what a book looks like after a first reading? Here you go.
It was after reading Thompson’s book that I tackled the next book, Alfred Dupont Chandler, Jr., Strategy and Structure: Chapters in the History of the Industrial Enterprise.
To be continued…
