Happy #NationalFreelancersDay! To all the Freelancers I work with, and especially here, to my favourite translator, thank you! I myself am a Freelancer in my spare time when the opportunity arises. This is something extraordinary in my opinion because, beyond the financial aspects, “freelancing” allows you to do exactly what you want to do, or a little more!

What is extraordinary is that we advertise ourselves, offering our services in a particular expertise and we carry out our work in that expertise. This is pure 21st-century craftsmanship. Obviously, as the law of supply and demand as well as globalisation both bring great volatility in prices, they also bring a wide variety of styles, but also a variance in quality.

Here are some elements that I put into practice during my interactions with freelancers.

  1. I don’t hesitate about giving new ones a chance.
  2. I validate the identity of freelancers/clients in non-standard ways as much as possible. Also, I make it easier for freelancers/clients to validate my identity.
  3. I start with small, but paid jobs. Trust must be built.
  4. I manage their expectations, as well as my own. It is important that we learn to work together and understand each other.

So to summarise, what has worked for me is: Honesty and trust. It’s hard to trust at first, you might even be fooled one day, but tell yourself that freelancing did not invent dishonesty and that the greatest commercial crimes were not committed by freelancers, but by large industries which had a wealth of trust, definitely, but of blind trust.

Coach Danny

See in me a trustworthy person who will not disappoint you. Although, like you, I have to work to make a living, your well being is my main interest and together we will find goals to make you feel fulfilled and proud of you. It has nothing to do with your bank account, your physical appearance or your material assets. Let’s be clear, we are working on fundamental levers for every human, whether you are a homeless person or part of royalty, you have these same levers. I’m Danny (aka CoachDanny). The people I work with are few, but they all have one thing in common. They share a common goal, self-fulfillment and more.
