When you have to roll up your sleeves.
I listened to this while writing this post, try it while you read :o)
What a world. I obviously don’t want to get back into the debate on racism or any other discrimination, but it seems that opinions are so varied and emotional that it’s very difficult to calmly put across your own position.
On the one hand, we have persecuted people. They demand justice, even reparation. They are asking to be given back what they have been denied, what they could have had and accumulated over the years, decades, and centuries of discrimination.
On the other hand, we have people who have what they have, without having really chosen it because of how they were born, and who are being asked for reimbursement, who are being asked to account for the mistakes of their peers, their ancestors.
The debate is very complex. Where to start? Should the dogma of diversity prevail over all other aspects of life? It would be important for us to agree on the vision to be achieved. Not knowing the final destination, how are we going to reach each other? Is the consensus of the destination not more important than the starting point if we already know that we are each starting from a different place? The consensus of the point of origin, in my opinion, has been settled for a long time, but the consensus of the destination has been seriously delayed.
