When the world stops turning

This post is the seventh of a series of ten posts about certain aspects of our lives during the COVID-19 crisis. These posts must be read in order, starting with the 6th post would make absolutely no sense to the reader. Enjoy reading and above all, enjoy reflecting.
According to Hofstede’s criteria, you will find a combination that will be decisive in the response that a population and its leaders will have to such a crisis. Uncertainty avoidance and long-term orientation versus short-term orientation will be major factors. For example, knowing that poverty leads to a decline in life expectancy and quality of life in general, the avoidance of immediate suffering could sweep this long-term vision aside in order to save certain individuals.
This answer will then need to be revealed. Today’s means of communication are extremely effective for the population in meeting this need. However, they have an important quirk. Take for example a leader of a particular nation’s account, not being able to go out to protest as a group for fear of legal or monetary reprisals, or even putting their health or life in danger, citizens will pounce on this.
