When there’s no enemy to blame

These words are taken from the lyrics of a song by the band NOFX. Let’s see why I’ve chosen them. Fish in a Gun Barrel is a song that talks about firearms and shootings. The references mainly echo in the United States. However, I thought that the mental health theme that is touched on in the song («How crazy he was», «His brain had a lesion», «Happy pills», «Lunatics»), tied in well with today’s tag.
As for the phrase in the intro, let’s remember that it is in our tribal nature to unite for a cause, and this strongly nourishes our need for affiliation and that the enemy to blame is this dreadful virus. In our context, everyone plays a role and our favourite sports team is replaced by our dedicated politicians, who take care of our economy, and microbiologists, who are desperately trying to find the best weapon to eradicate this threat to humanity.
Our strength over the last few days is explained by the words of NOFX when they say: Why do we have a hard time. When there’s no enemy to blame. It’s worth thinking about and sometimes even analysing song lyrics. :o)
