When another confirmation comes
The Doomsday clock has just struck midnight. Should we be worried? Let’s see. Not at all! Time is almost infinitely divisible on our scale of understanding. If we had to, it is possible to divide a second in Planck time, which boils down to dividing it by 0.00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00185 46303 62895 523 (I hope I’ve got that right! :o) you can check it for yourself! ).
I must say that this clock seems interesting enough to make people think about the seriousness of a situation, but cannot achieve its ultimate objective considering that:
- A person old enough to be interested in the clock in 1940 would now be 100 years old.
- The emotional state of 1940 is not the same as today. (Cynicism, paranoia, conspiracy logic, social anxiety)
- This clock is subjective, although I respect the approach, no one knows the future.
So it goes without saying that the purpose of this clock is to warn people, but what can really be done with this omen? In my opinion, not much. The climate is changing, it has always changed and will continue to change. For better or for worse, it will change. Live your life to the fullest by avoiding the suggestive behaviour of tendencies.
As for atomic weapons, disarming the world seems humanly unlikely, almost impossible.
