When you try to reason
Once again, I’m going to hit a nerve. Let’s see which one. There is misfortune in the world. But how is it possible for there to be so much bad news? Some years ago now, I cut my ties with the media. There was too much bad news all the time.
Theft of all kinds, murder, violent or sexual crimes. And if we add moral crimes to this, such as sexual, discriminatory or other harassment, and to top it all off, reprehensible misconduct and behaviour, we paint a poor picture of our humanity.
Despite this, our systems will one day be able to deal with crimes faster and less costly in terms of time and human effort. As Frank Herbert saw with the Bureau of Sabotage or as Sergeant Spartan discovered in 2032, technology may become a little too effective for solving crimes. However, we can say that there is room for improvement between now and then.
Anyway, without putting my head in the sand, what makes me nauseous right now is the progression of global anomie. There’s no doubt that this is not unidentified to the deterioration of the mental health of new generations. What do you think?
To be continued…
