When you won­der if you should be quiet

As you may have seen in the media, there are cur­rent­ly rela­ti­ve­ly minor ten­sions going on in the Middle East. Let’s have a look. After doing some research, I am able to put the recent exchanges bet­ween Iran and the Uni­ted States of Ame­ri­ca into pers­pec­tive. Like many other situa­tions of the same nature, there are just no words to des­cribe it. I could reel off a list of words to sup­port my state of mind, but I think we all know what that means.

To make this as simple as pos­sible, let’s draw a line and put eve­ry­thing we would consi­der as desi­rable on one side, and on the other side, the oppo­site. Sim­ply put, I would put this conflict on the lat­ter side. I couldn’t pos­si­bly wish for a situa­tion like this.

Now, is there a logi­cal expla­na­tion for what’s going on? Well, of course. Eve­ry­thing has an expla­na­tion, one way or ano­ther, but the real ques­tion is, are we pre­pa­red to consi­der what the expla­na­tion actual­ly is? To ans­wer this, I would say that it would be very sur­pri­sing to say yes, which the­re­fore makes me pre­fer to remain silent on the sub­ject rather than to fuel a debate that is alrea­dy well under­way. What do you say?
