When a good bar­gain is a good bargain

What can we say about Cyber Mon­day? Let’s see. Cyber Mon­day is a day when retai­lers encou­rage their cus­to­mers to buy online. Now, you know as well as I do that many people are oppo­sed to online shop­ping as they encou­rage giants like Ama­zon, for example. But is that real­ly the case? Ama­zon is a mar­ket­place. It allows small retai­lers to adver­tise them­selves and sell on their plat­form. But at what cost?

Of course, Ama­zon retains a por­tion of the pro­fits or admi­nis­tra­tive fees. But is that not the case with shop­ping centres or local autho­ri­ties who col­lect taxes from retai­lers? The vir­tual world will always reflect the real world, some­times in such a per­fect way that it leaves us in abso­lute awe. Being a retai­ler comes with its fair share of rea­li­ty, even online.

Ask a retai­ler or expe­rience it for your­self, you will see that what is condem­ned is some­times the result of a series of actions and reac­tions that led to the truth we know today. You will see that the laws of natu­ral selec­tion and sur­vi­val of the fit­test are indeed active in this com­mer­cial jungle that we des­pe­ra­te­ly need and are so dependent on.
