When holidays are still a good thing
I admit to giving the holidays offered by the System a hard time, but are holidays really all that bad? Let’s have a look. Technically, holidays are often an opportunity to celebrate an event or to celebrate in a certain state of mind. Thanksgiving is an excellent example of this state of mind. To be grateful to be alive, grateful to have access to the modern world and the infinite knowledge that we have accumulated.
My greatest wish would be for people to be generally more grateful and to take advantage of this day to emphasise, in a humble way, that the world today has so much to offer, especially in rich countries. Not having a spoiled child mindset is a rough thing to achieve when the group is pulling you in this direction. Every generation experiences its rough patch by disrespectfully rejecting the previous generation or generations’ heritage, but generally, this rejection is done by using all the gifts they have received as acquired.
So, let us be thankful and before asking others to adapt to us, live our choices fully without waiting for others to do the same.
