When it’s not OK
Do you not know how to define mental health? Well, how do you define your physical health? It’s the same thing!!! Let’s have a little think. How do you define physical health? The first thing we think of is not having a disease. Perfect, but what is a disease? Well, you do understand the principle, right? We ask questions, we examine the topic, we gather all the information and we arrive at a definition of health that could resemble the state of our body that is in a position to deliver its full potential on demand. We must be careful, however, because a paraplegic person can be healthy (often even more than us!). So, we are talking about our current health. I can say that I was healthier when I was 20, but only if I mean that currently, I am not able to use my 40-year-old body to its full potential. I may well be healthier at 70 than any other point in my life.
So, mental health is the same thing. The problem is that it’s less noticeable. It is essential to interact with our brain to know its state, because some psychological problems may well be like physical problems that could be treated by physiotherapy, for example. And you, how do you consider your physical and mental health to be?
