When balance applies to us
Yesterday, I told you about my definition of me. Let’s see where that leads us. By adding up my perception of myself and that of my wife – I am talking here about my perception of what I believe to be her perception – we can come up with a definition that could begin to resemble who I am. It includes a view from the inside and a view from the outside. In my opinion, my relationship with my wife adjusts my definition of me, but only partially. Now, if we add that to my children, my family, my friends, my colleagues and other, this will all influence my definition of myself. This simple two-dimensional diagram representation is simple, but much easier to understand in my opinion. (Me = Danny)

You will understand that the balance that I mentioned earlier applies to the circles in this diagram. The investment of your time in maintaining these facets must be balanced because ultimately, when these circles are present, they are part of us, but when they leave, they tear off part of our identity, something which is completely normal. So, consider that it is important to keep on top of these facets equally, but to favour one. I’ll let you guess which one I would recommend protecting at all costs.
