When emotions are going written
At some point in time, we created a physical system to exchange and keep ideas and reality concepts. Let’s jump into this. Stories, rules, inventories and other thoughts were written in some graphical ways. We made this idea evolve in many forms depending on where you are in the world. Emotions, as they are vivid in our mind, always were tough to transcribe.
This is where emojis are coming into play. Ideas and emotions are universal. Ideas take time to explain, precise and exchange. Emotions are different. They are more subtle. As our thoughts are often associated with a visual image, emotions are more on the behavioural plane. They intend to explain the way we are acting and what we can expect others to act or react.
Emojis being associated with non-verbal expression, these are, I think, the best we can do, for now, to share our state of mind. Being able to “almost” universally share these with some basic sets of characters, 🙂 or 🙁 or 😛 or even :o, 😉 or:’(, all of these are a fantastic way to add nuance to our written communications, sometimes and for some people in a better way than direct exchange.
