When the sky is no more the limit
Today is the 50th anniversary of space mission Apollo 11 launch. Let’s think about this. How incredible space exploration is. Not so far ago, we were still exploring our own ground trying to get rid of this Terra incognita. Few decades had to past before we understood that Terra should be replaced by Caelo or even more by Spacium. What a shock to understand slowly understand our small place in the universe. So much time to conquer our own planet and then we catch realize that there could be billions of similar world to explore.
This anniversary underlines our progress to push our limits but also confirm our insignificance in this universe. But is this not the whole thing about science? Solve a mystery, and it will bring more questions to answer? We should be ready for the next Copernicus and make sure we can understand that space is just another layer of reality that will bring us much farther.
My question would be, is humanity capable of going that fast? The human took 6000 years to get where we are today. On a technology basis, most people are not able to explain to you how they could get some salt. This makes me think that AI and artificial self-evolving machines may replace us for the next millenniums. Could our creators be something less evolved than us, the same way we will create this new life form?
