When a flag is more than a flag
Today is the flag day in the USA. Let’s jump into this. I like the flag of a country. The flag of a country is directly linked to the love we have for our land, values and social relationships. Many brands took this mechanism for their purposes. While it is a brilliant marketing research result, I can’t say it is moral. However, what is moral at this point? Let’s keep this on the side for now.
Brands are brands, but a country is much more than that. Who would risk its life for a brand? I don’t know anyone, even fanatics employees of these brand, that would not go for it. However, fighting for a country, for values, there we can get some action. A flag is a way to show and promote our country. Not the one represented by the political parties at the parliament, but the real country, the one in your vision, the one you love.
The world is divided into countries is a gift. By that, we were able to develop different cultures and to share, represent and compare cultures across the globe. Even without countries, the world would split in a way that proximity would develop in subgroups that would share and would be proud of their local achievements.
