Why do we love pet
Today is all about pets. Pets of all kind, and according to the APPA, dogs are ahead. Just for fun, let’s look a bit closer. In their last survey, the APPA gives 68% of US household that would own a pet. Of this 68 %, half would have a dog, a bit less a cat, and other species would come after. Well, not surprising that the majority of pictures are from these two species. Well, let’s see these numbers on the motivational point of view. Dogs here have a lead. As dogs are considered as good guardians, they win the security need layer. Sorry for cats, but we rarely hear the expression watchcat. Dogs can be impressive and give their owner an income of safety impression. Then come the other main layer, the famous belonging layer. Pets are usually a full family member. Due to their life span, they can teach a lot to a family about birth, responsibilities, and death. It represents a great opportunity to fulfill someone’s need for a child, a friend or even a life partner. Animal-assisted therapy is a good example of how a pet can contribute to a human well-being.
